<7/07/09> Social Media: The Annie Merner Pfeiffer Library Edition --

 

<6/09/09> Serve 2.0 Grant Program Begins -- Our Serve 2.0 grant from the Bonner Foundation has officially started! The grant will support the newly-formed Main Street Artists Co-Op in Buckhannon, WV. The interns - Danielle Mullins and Ben VanDenBerg - will be supporting the project by capturing the work of Upshur County artists and featuring their art via several social media tools: YouTube (videos), Facebook (networking), Wordpress (blogging) and Changing the Present (fund raising).

 

<5/14/09> Using Serve 2.0 to Engage Students in the Classroom -- As part of the 2009 Spring Faculty Development Workshop Series, AmeriCorps VISTA member Brooke Rawson lead a session with faculty on the best uses of Serve 2.0 technology (social media) within the classroom.  Tools that served a primary focus were wikis, social bookmarking, blogging, video sharing and podcasting.  Links to the presentation coming soon!

 

<4/20/09> Applying Social Media within Student Development -- AmeriCorps VISTA member Brooke Rawson held a session with the Student Development office at WVWC on the different ways that campuses can use social media tools to connect with current and prospective students, faculty and staff, as well as other schools and organizations. <Link to blog story>
